This fall:  What is the Future of Hermitage?

Check back for more details.

We want to thank all of you who attended our "Future of Donelson" public forum on May 8 at the Hermitage Police Precinct. It was a packed house with a lot of information shared about exciting developments coming to Donelson. The audience was engaged as well with lots of questions. It's important we stay engaged. Keep in touch with us regarding the issues that concern you. Join us. Be a part of DHNA. Neighborhoods alone don't have much of a voice. Together, we can have influence on our community.

Special thanks to Councilmen Jeff Syracuse and Kevin Rhoten for participating, as well as a number of community leaders, including Mia Keller of CBRE, Frank Trew of HipDonelson, Floyd Shechter of SmartSpace, and Maria Mauthe of HJL Management.

Coming up with DHNA...

On Monday evening, May 9, 2016 DHNA hosted an evening with Bill Penn, TITLE, Metropolitan Nashville Codes at the Hermitage Precinct. Along with the DHNA Board of Directors and several Metro Council representatives, approximately 50+ neighbors attended.

Mr. Penn has been with Metro Codes for more than a decade and provided a comprehensive overview of how the department works, including field inspections, enforcement and the process of remediation. He also touched on some examples of code infraction as well as situations that might be objectionable but are not regulated by Metro Codes. Among common recent complaints cited by Mr. Penn were short-term rentals without proper permits, parking and inoperable vehicles. All pretty predictable given the explosive growth and popularity of tourism in the Nashville area.

The floor was then opened to questions. There were many. Most were addressed directly but Bill was gracious and helpful in directing some neighbors to other Metro departments and/or their local Metro Councilperson.
